Gently clean affected areas if dirty, and apply a thick layer of ointment. For future applications, it is preferable that you avoid washing the affected areas, and wipe away any excess ointment and reapply the Aromaheel once or twice daily. Simple.

If crusty scabs are present, do not try and remove them, just apply the Aromaheel over the top, ensuring they are fully covered so that they are no longer visible, and they will gently wipe off after a couple of days, allowing the ointment to reach the skin and bacteria underneath.

If you need to occasionally wash the affected areas, particularly if your horse has long feathers, please use a good antibacterial shampoo, and ensure that you dry the hair thoroughly afterwards.
